The Fullness of Christ in Our Homes
Colossians 3:20-21
The foundation of this command is the supremacy of Christ.
The function of this command, obviously, is obedience.
1. Is my obedience prompt? Do I respond on the first call or does it take several prompts for me to do what I am asked.
2. Do I listen through the day for the voices of my parents or do I force them to come and dig me out of my world?
3. Is my obedience genuine and with a sense of happiness, or do I only externally comply all the while grumbling in my heart over what has been commanded?
4. am I legalistic in my obedience or do I seek to obey the spirit of what has been commanded? Clean up the toys in your room. Partly done, I didnt get them all out.
5. Is my obedience the same for my mother as for my dad, vice versa?
6. Are you aware of the ways that the culture will try to lure you away from this command?
2. A clarion call for Fathers 3:21
