The God You Can Trust

Trust: assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something.  Webster’s

 
1.  You can trust God, alone, to be worthy of worship 1:1-8

            The biblical idea of jealousy is an emotion that is stirred up by infringing on or denying the right of exclusive possession. 

2.  You can trust God to bring justice on all who refuse to worship him alone.

This is God’s promise in a general sense

            This is God’s promise specifically to Nineveh

Of what was Nineveh guilty?

            1.  Violence.  3:1-3

            2.  Deceit  3:1

            3.  Plunder, stealing.  3:1

            4.  False worship, witchcraft.  3:4

3.  You can trust God to ultimately deliver from injustice and show mercy to all who worship him alone as God.
