The Foolishness of Running from God
Jonah 1:1-16

Why did Jonah run from God’s command?

Do we find in our hearts the spiritual ancestry of Jonah?


1.  Running from God is foolish.

             …because is suggests that he is not omnipresent.

            …because it is always a downward spiral.

             …because it is always costly.

             …because it often places others in peril.

             …because it may be legal but still immoral.

 
2.  God’s purposes cannot be tossed aside.

 
3.  Repentance is the only acceptable solution for rebellion.

             Biblical repentance always begins with sorrow toward God

             Biblical repentance always produces results

                         Restoration

                         Renewed direction
