Practical applications.

  • If God hates sin this much, so should I.
  • Jesus is faithful, so should I be.
  • Jesus uses biblical language to express his grief, so should I.
  • The veil was torn in two, declaring among other things, that there would be no more signs or symbols.  Jesus is the only reality.  I must learn to know him and his ways.
  • Jesus trusted God and hoped in him.  I must learn to do so, as well.
  • Christ has died to redeem people from every nation, so I should hope in Christ to overcome my fears and be involved in carrying the Gospel to others.
  • The cross work of Christ must be at the center of every life issue we face, whether it is in putting something sinful away or putting on something righteous.
  • Because Christ has redeemed us, we belong to him.  We have no right to give ourselves to another.
