2a.  Christian love flows from a single source.

2b.  Christian love is produced by a single work.

2c.  Christian love is directed by a single motive.

3.  The Product of Christian love.  What does it produce?

            3a.  Our love toward God

            3b.  Our love toward others.

4.  The emptiness of virtue apart from love.

Practical Applications:

1.  Use this truth to examine yourself.

2.  Allow this to instruct you as to a proper way of living the Christian life.

3.  Allow this to provoke you to study the love of God carefully.

4.  Let this remain your life-long and increasing motive for all you are as a Christian.

5.  Guard yourself against envy, malice, bitterness and holding grudges.

            James 3:16

6.  Remember that Christ calls us to love our enemies.  (Matt 5:4)
