How can we know we have evidence of spiritual mindedness?
Owen suggests the following:
1. Read Psalm 119. See how David expresses his continual delight in the Law of God. Do I talk and think like him in this regard?
2. What proportion of your thoughts are about spiritual things?
3. When you don’t have to give your focus and attention to work, school,
or other proper things, where do your thoughts run?
4. Do you grieve over times when you could have been occupied with spiritual things but were not?
Here are some suggestions for developing spiritual thinking.
1. When thinking about heaven, think rightly.
2. When meditating on heaven and other spiritual things, do not quit.
3. Think regularly on the Person and Work of Christ.
4. Think regularly on God.
