III. What happens in true conversion?

Our actions:

A. Faith in Christ

B. Repentance from sin

God’s actions:

C. Justification: our sins are forgiven, and we are accounted righteous. This speaks of our position.

D. Definitive sanctification: we die to sin in union with Christ. This speaks of our condition.

III. Definitive Sanctification

A. At conversion we die to sin in union with Christ. Rom. 6:2-7

B. At conversion the slavery to sin is broken, and we become slaves of righteousness. Rom. 6:14-22.

C. These changes are actual.

D. This is an integral part of salvation by grace. (v. 23)
