Glorious Renewal

Ephesians 4:17-24

 

Since we are new creatures Paul calls us by the authority of Christ to walk worthy (4:1) of our calling and to live a life that is in clear contrast to our former way of life.

 

1.  The Unbelievers Walk (17-19)

 

            1a.  Futile thinking

 

            1b.  Void of life that is in God

                        1b1.  Because of ignorance

                        1b2.  Because of hardness of heart

 

            1c.  A calloused heart

 

            1d.  Greed and every kind of impurity

 

One can see why we need transformation and a change of our thinking.  This renewal grants an entirely different approach to life that is Christ-centered and aware of Gods instruction.

 

2.  The Believers Walk  (20-24)

 

            2a.  Contrasted sharply with the unbelievers walk

 

            2b.  This is a call to put off the old self

 

            2c.  This is a call to put on the new self

 

            2d.  Christ enables us by renewing our minds.
